Q: What do you like most about the Plaza Health Club?
A: Staff is fantastic. Even coming in very early in the morning you are greeted with a smile.
Q: How long have you been exercising and what was your daily routine prior to beginning an exercise regimen?
A: I've been doing one thing or another since way back in high school. When I couldn't play club lacrosse anymore I got into running. During times when I wouldn't exercise it would be tough to get out of bed and days would drone on.
Q: What were your eating habits like?
A: I would eat pretty much anything and portion control would kill me. If there was a piece of pizza or chicken wing left I would eat it.
Q: What are your current exercise routine and eating habits?
A: I have been lifting 2 or 3 days/week. Running and/or biking 6 days a week; will be adding swimming in late April. My diet has been simplified as I try to get a handle on my portion sizes and what foods really need to be avoided except for every once and a while a treat. Sticking mainly with the basic chicken, fish, brown rice, and vegetables. Using lots of different spices to keep things fresh.
Q: How long has it been since you started working out at the Plaza and what accomplishment(s) have you achieved?
A: Been at Plaza for a year now primarily coming in 2-4 times per week. Since New Years I have been in almost every day. Historically, I can plod along at 10:30 minute mile pace forever. I have been working on increasing my speed and recently ran a mile in 7 minutes.
Q: What made you change your lifestyle and follow a consistent workout schedule?
A: I did a sprint triathlon with friends last year and really enjoyed it. I picked a half Ironman race in September as a goal and reward to start working harder and more consistently. The FitTrip program was also a great motivator to kick start training.

Q: What is your major accomplishment?
A: Running 5 marathons and 2 half marathons

A: Anything outdoors is great!
