The Plaza Executive Health Club Member of the Month for July is Eileen Poss! Way to go Eileen!
Q: Where are you from?
A: Ormand Beach, FL
Q: How long have you been doing your job?
A: Celebrating 20 years with Bank of America this year. Current role as eCommerce Solutions Executive, Global Product Solutions (develop online investment, debt and liquidity applications for commercial and large corporate business clients
Q: What is your major accomplishment?
A: Raising my incredible little boys
Q: What do you like most about the Plaza Health Club? A: Location, location, location, and the spin bikes
Q: How long have you been exercising and what was your daily routine prior to beginning an exercise regimen?
A: I have always been active (tennis, walking, etc), but didn’t have a daily regime in place. Most exercise happened on the weekends. I have a chronic back issue that at times temporarily has sidelined me.
Q: What were your eating habits like?
A: Traditionally a healthy eater, but love carbs and would call myself a stress snacker.
Q: What are your current exercise routine and eating habits?
A: Try to burn 500 calories every time I tie my shoes. SPIN 2x weeks, running 2-3x week, weights (with personal trainer) 1-2x week, and ALTA doubles tennis. Trying hard to plan meals and snacking in advance and focus on more fruits, vegetables and lean protein.
Q: How long has it been since you started working out at the Plaza and what accomplishment(s) have you achieved?
A: I have been a member for 10 years, but only the past 9 months would I consider myself as very active. Biggest accomplishment was changing my mindset and putting exercise first by formally scheduling it into my calendar. In return I lost 8% of my body fat and dropping 1 (close to 2) dress sizes since January.
Q: What made you change your lifestyle and follow a consistent workout schedule?
A: I was tired of my clothes and how I looked in them. I knew it was time to finally commit to losing the 15 lbs that I had been “wishing away” for the past 8 years. A combination of getting the nerve to try out the Tues/Thurs SPIN classes (and realizing that 50 minutes of cardio actually wouldn’t kill me!), physically blocking the time out on my work calendar as a “mandatory meeting” and the FitTrip program were the key motivators. Also, can’t say enough great things about Allison Lee as a personal trainer and the whole PEHC staff. They knew my goals and really helped keep me focused on meeting them.
Q: Favorite restaurant(s)? A: Outback
Q: Favorite book(s)? A: The Harry Potter series, as it has brought together 3 generations of readers in my family (my son, me and my Dad) at the same time
Q: What is your favorite thing to do in Atlanta?
A: Playing ALTA tennis, riding bikes around Piedmont Park
Q: Favorite movie/ actor /actress?
A: Sound of Music. Can’t see that ever changing…
Q: Favorite vacation spot?
A: Cannes, France, but am pretty happy going to Ponte Vedra, Florida too.
Q: If I could I would?
A: Magically make all drivers stop for pedestrians in cross-walks
