Dick Jones' story:

Two years ago I weighed 220 pounds and was not only out of shape, but also had high blood pressure and high cholesterol.  In an effort to lose weight I signed up to run the inaugural ING Georgia Marathon which I did little training for but finished in 6 hours and 15 minutes.  I decided to do something about my physical fitness and set my sites on qualifying, running and finishing the Boston Marathon which is the oldest and most prestigious marathon in he world.  This is also the only marathon in which you need a qualifying time in order to run.

Last week (April 20, 2009) I ran the Boston Marathon in 3:29:17 and finished in the top 30% of all runners from around the world.  Over the past two years I have logged over 5,500 miles running and biking, ran 37 races including five marathons, six half marathons and 18 10K's, lost 75 pounds (I now weigh 145 pounds), lowered my blood pressure from 150/90 to 110/60, reduced my cholesterol from 280 to 110, and transformed myself from an out of shape, beer drinking couch potato, to a competitive middle age marathon runner.

It is so convenient to belong to PEHC.  I avoid all morning traffic and get the best parking spot in the building by arriving at 5:30AM.  By 7:00AM I am eating oatmeal in the cafeteria and arrive at the office by 7:30AM when most folks are in a traffic jam!  Demetrius (PEHC hospitality staff) always has a friendly good morning smile and the health club ready for business!
